Holocaust Education Exhibit Facilitator

Position Type: Contractor – Part-Time / Full-Time (Variable Hours)

Location: Atlantic Canada (Travel across New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia required)

Start Date: October, 2025 (with some training commencing prior to)

Position Summary

The Holocaust Education Exhibit Facilitator will play a key role in delivering and facilitating ACHEF’s Holocaust Education Exhibit in schools and communities throughout Atlantic Canada. The position involves travelling with the exhibit, delivering educational programming, and engaging with students and the public to promote awareness and understanding of the Holocaust and antisemitism.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a passionate educator or community leader who is deeply committed to social justice, historical education, and combating antisemitism. They are empathetic, thoughtful, and capable of engaging diverse audiences with sensitivity and respect.

They have a strong interest in Holocaust history, the Jewish experience, and human rights education—and are either already knowledgeable or eager to learn. They are comfortable speaking to students, educators, and community members, and can adapt their communication style to suit different age groups and learning needs.

This person thrives in dynamic, hands-on environments, and is comfortable working independently while traveling. They are reliable, organized, and take pride in representing an important educational mission with integrity and professionalism.

They understand the power of testimony and storytelling in preserving memory and shaping a more just future, and they are motivated by a desire to make meaningful impact in schools and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver educational programming related to the Holocaust Exhibit in schools.
  • Set up and dismantle the travelling exhibit at designated sites.
  • Provide interactive and testimony-based learning experiences to students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff and ACHEF team.
  • Represent ACHEF with professionalism, empathy, and historical accuracy.
  • Travel across New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia to various schools.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and transport of the exhibit materials.
  • Provide reports after attending each school.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundational knowledge of the Holocaust, Jewish history, and the history of antisemitism—or a willingness to engage in extensive training.
  • Experience in teaching, public speaking, education, or community engagement is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with youth audiences.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 30 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older for car rental purposes.
  • Clean background check (to work with vulnerable populations, including children).
  • Bilingual is an asset.

Opportunity for Growth

While this is currently a contract-based, part-time position with variable hours, there may be opportunities to expand the role into a full-time position as the program grows and based on performance and organizational needs.
